(1939) First entered the comic business at age 17, was first hired as an assistant editor for the newly established Timely Comics group with the help of his uncle Robbie Solomon.
(1941) He first began to work on comics, starting with the third issue of Captain America.
(1942) Was promoted to editor.
(1945) He lived in the rented top floor of a brownstone in the East 90s in Manhattan.
(1947-12-05) Married Joan Lee.
(1947-12-16) His mother Celia Lieber passed away.
(1949) He and his wife bought a house in Woodmere, New York, on Long Island, living there through 1952.
(1950) His daughter J.C. Lee was born.
(1953) His second daughter Jan Lee died shortly after birth.
(1968-02-26) His father Jacob Aaron “Jack” Lieber passed away.
(1972) Became publisher and editorial director of Marvel Comics. He stopped writing monthly comic books after receiving these promotions.
(1994) He was inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame.
(2017) He was awarded a Disney Legends award for his contribution to film & publishing.
(2017-07-06) His wife Joan Lee passed away from complications of a stroke.
