The (small) boost in emotional content notwithstanding, this is still the series to hit up for a watching experience that is consistently fun and never taxing.
This is a collection of gags in search of a plotline, and when it finally does find a story to tell, the change in tone is so abrupt that you end up wishing it had stayed pointless and stupid.
A young man becomes obsessed with a young woman who can transform into an alien biomechanical dragon in this weak effort from Gonzo. While not a total disaster, it does not give much hope for the rest of the series.
If this is the kind of stagnation and dullness that permeates the monster world, then we should all be thankful for being human.
Genshiken DVD 2The ultimate anime series about fandom chugs along its merry way as it explores further aspects of the life and culture of otaku and those who love them. A safe choice for any who consider themselves true otaku. A recap episode of Kujibiki Unbalance is also included.
