A young man tries to battle back against giant humanoids who feast on humans in this graphic, visceral, and fantastically intense action/horror story. Its great strengths overcome writing and production value inconsistencies.

If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

All in all, this seventh volume is nothing spectacular. Toriko hunts, eats, harvests, and fights in all his burly glory. There's little depth to these actions, and Toriko and his friends aren't especially attractive to look upon, but the details that have gone into the world and the creatures lend this more interest than it might otherwise have.
