A young man tries to battle back against giant humanoids who feast on humans in this graphic, visceral, and fantastically intense action/horror story. Its great strengths overcome writing and production value inconsistencies.

If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

Despite its tendency to ape other series and some bland stretches, this original Bones production does sport some respectable writing and couples its distinctive visual appeal with a concerted effort at character development. That is enough to carry the series through its first half.
