Jazz music is much the stars as the main cast in this story about teens who become friends in late 1960s Japan. Great sounds and good character development bolster what is otherwise a fairly pedestrian character drama.

The first season wraps up with a pair of deliciously intense action-packed story arcs which show Revy and other female warriors at their best. Enjoy it while you can, because there won't be any more for a while.
