Description:
Lurking under the facade of everyday life lies a dark world of pain and destruction. The world is controlled by a sinister brotherhood that hides their fangs behind masks of humanity. They are the Chronos Corporation.
While investigating a mysterious explosion near his school, Sho Fukamachi happens upon the Chronos Corporation's greatest weapon: a techno organic suit of bio armor known as the "Guyver." But Chronos is determined to conceal their secrets at any cost. Sho soon finds himself relentlessly pursued by an army of horrific bio-monsters. With nowhere to run, Sho is forced to call upon the fearsome power of the Guyver and rip his opponents limb from limb in a desperate struggle for survival.

The (small) boost in emotional content notwithstanding, this is still the series to hit up for a watching experience that is consistently fun and never taxing.
This is a collection of gags in search of a plotline, and when it finally does find a story to tell, the change in tone is so abrupt that you end up wishing it had stayed pointless and stupid.
A young man becomes obsessed with a young woman who can transform into an alien biomechanical dragon in this weak effort from Gonzo. While not a total disaster, it does not give much hope for the rest of the series.
If this is the kind of stagnation and dullness that permeates the monster world, then we should all be thankful for being human.
Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy DVD 1The first volume of the second TV series pretty much offers more of the same: a mild, pleasant, and bland blend of romance and comedy long on sugar but short on spice. A sweet tooth may be required to fully appreciate it.
