Buried Treasure - Venus Wars Venus Wars is a loud, fun and mildly intelligent work. Its look is a little dated, but it's still arresting today, nearly twenty years after its release. 2008-07-24
Otoboku DVD 1 For three cruelly unimaginative episodes it's one long slide into a torturous hell of harem tropes and girls' school tripe, before a minor shift in focus an episode later sends it spiraling to giddy heights of tolerability. Exhilarating. 2008-07-24

Adventures in Voice Acting Volume 1: Anime If you have ever been curious about voice actors or what is involved with being an anime voice actor, this is a DVD you will want to pick up. If you are enthusiastic about becoming an anime voice actor yourself, this is a DVD you need to pick up.
Otoboku DVD 1 For three cruelly unimaginative episodes it's one long slide into a torturous hell of harem tropes and girls' school tripe, before a minor shift in focus an episode later sends it spiraling to giddy heights of tolerability. Exhilarating.
Time Stranger Kyoko GN 1 A princess becomes a time traveler to wake her sleeping twin (and thus get out of being a princess) in this silly, mostly light shojo series from the creator of Full Moon O Sagashite. Although it shows some promise, it is also very uneven.
Emma Sub.DVD Anyone who can make it through the series' slow emotional boil, pregnant moments of silent portent, light, soft humor and pitch-perfect, forlornly hopeful conclusion, and still grumble about its dublessness is in serious need of hug therapy.
Berserk GN 23 An exceedingly well-balanced volume in every respect, a near-perfect mixture of sex and violence, character development, comic relief (courtesy of, as always, Puck and Isidro), and transcendent yet sinister beauty.
Fairy Tail GN 3 Sure, this volume follows every action-adventure convention by the book, but damn if it doesn't put on a good show along the way.
Sword of the Stranger There's little about Sword of the Stranger you haven't seen before, but it's an absurdly fun, highly enjoyable sort of film that just about anybody could enjoy, provided one likes action. It could just be the cross-over hit the genre has needed for a very long time.
Witchblade: Takeru GN Completists will definitely want to pick Witchblade: Takeru Manga up, irrespective of its many narrative flaws. Those unfamiliar with the franchise may do so as well without many comprehension difficulties, though why they would want to remains an open question.
Pleasure Dome GN Pleasure Dome is a pleasurable work of fiction with a flair for the astonishing that so many other examples of the BL genre lack.
Project Blue Earth SOS DVD 3 A conclusion that sometimes over-extends itself but is otherwise the same gloriously silly mash-up of borrowed Hollywood sci-fi tropes.
