Opera Web Browser's 'Opera-tan' Mascot Gets Figure

posted on by Gia Manry
Figure based on fan illustration of browser's personification

The online retailer Hobby Link Japan has announced that it has commissioned a figure based on an anime-style illustration of "Opera-tan," an anthropomorphication of the Opera web browser for desktop computers and mobile phones. The artist temp_h created the original piece of art that inspired the upcoming figure, after anime fan and blogger Lawrence Eng suggested the creation of such a character in 2005.

Hobby Link Japan will produce the figure as a resin kit, requiring assembly, and release it next February. The companies credits the sculpting of the figure to "Modeler T." The figure kit will be available at the Hobby Link Japan website and at the model event Wonder Festival on February 6.
