Rie Tanaka, Male Angel Beats Character Get Body Pillow Covers

Voice actress Rie Tanaka revealed on her Twitter account on Sunday that she did a photoshoot for her first dakimakura (body pillow or literally, "hugging pillow"). The official website for her new album Kokoro has since revealed that the dakimakura cover will be a special item sold at her "Live de Rie 2010 ~from the heart~" concert event. This is one of the first, if not the first, dakimakura cover for a voice actress.
In a separate development, Angel Beats! producer Hironori Toba has announced on the anime's official Twitter account on Tuesday that his team gave the official go-ahead for the sale of a dakimakura — for a male character. The staff will announce which character later. The 14th volume of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's Festival! Comic magazine bundled a different, "near life-size" dakimakura cover of the female Angel Beats! character Tenshi on Tuesday.
