K-On!'s Mio Akiyama

In the above photo, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Mio Akiyama, a primary character in kakifly's popular manga K-ON! and its television anime adaptation. In the series, Mio is a high school student who wishes to join the literature club, but instead joins the school's light music club at the behest of her best friend Ritsu Tainaka. Together with Ritsu, Tsumugi Kotobuki, and Yui Hirasawa, Mio forms the band Ho-kago Tea Time and writes most of the band's music, as well as singing the vocals on some of its tracks. In 2009, Mio was voted the #1 choice of anime character bride on Japanese music distributor Recochoku's survey.
The costume shown here is the outfit Mio wears in the anime's first ending animation sequence with the song "Don't Say Lazy."
