Contestants play Pokémon Black or White; winners go to San Diego final.

The UK round of the Pokémon Video Game Championships will be held at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre (beside Birmingham International Railway Station) on June 4. Players require a copy of the European edition of Pokémon Black Version or Pokemon White Version for the Nintendo DS. They also need a team of legal Pokémon as defined in the Tournament Regulations.

The contestants will be split into three divisions: Junior (born in 2000 or later), Senior (born in '96, '97, '98 or '99) or Masters (born in 1995 or earlier). Should a player's eligibility be questioned, proof of age may be requested.

Prizes are awarded to the top finishers in each of the three age divisions. Third through eighth-place winners will receive an invitation to compete at the final in San Diego.
