300 Satoshi Kon Art Collection Boxes to Be Sold

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Perfect Blue/Paprika director personally assembled art 1 month before passing

The official website of the late director Satoshi Kon provided more details about the director's upcoming art collection box. Kon personally assembled and cataloged 69 pieces of illustrations for the box as late as last July, one month before passing. He also wrote descriptions for the illustrations in the box, which will be limited to 300 sets.

100 of the sets will be sold at a special "Millennium Souvenir" retrospective exhibition dedicated to Kon's works, to be held from August 12 through August 24 at the Shinjuku Ophthalmologist Gallery in Tokyo. The other 200 sets will be sold only on Kon's official website. The box will be sold for 28,000 yen (US$346). It will contain 54 color illustrations and 15 black and white illustrations, including illustrations for his anime works and related goods, as well as private sketches. The illustrations will not be bound in a book form, but will be presented so they are available for framing.
