Five voice actresses from the Hanasaku Iroha television anime have lent their voices to a railroad line in Ishikawa prefecture, where the anime takes place. Kanae Ito (Ohana Matsumae), Chiaki Omigawa (Minko Tsurugi), Aki Toyosaki (Nako Oshimizu), Haruka Tomatsu (Yuina Wakura), and Mamiko Noto (Tomoe Wajima) have recorded their voices for the train announcements in character. The characters announce each station along the line as well as specific places along the line, passenger announcements, and the name of the next station. The train line started broadcasting the new announcements on Saturday.
Hanasaku Iroha is anime studio P.A. Works' 10th anniversary project. The show features original character designs by Mel Kishida (So-Ra-No-Wo-To) and an image song, "Patricia," sung by nano.RIPE. The story centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old Tokyo native who ends up working with her grandmother at an onsen ryokan (hot spring inn). Matsumae has yet to decide her future. The show premiered in Japan in April, and Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting the series.
