James Gunn, writer of this year's film Super and co-writer of the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, is supervising on the story scenario for Lollipop Chainsaw, the 2012 action game from Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is releasing the game outside of all Asian territories on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Gunn also wrote and directed Tromeo and Juliet and Slither.

At the Kadokawa Games Conference 2011 in Tokyo, Suda 51, the creative director of Grasshoper Manufacture, said that the game was 75% complete. He also said that he and Kadokawa hoped to develop the game's main character, Juliet, into an "actress."
