2nd pre-order round to ship in October, but will still have 1st-printing extras

The store chains Toranoana and Gamers have begun accepting the second round of pre-orders for the two-volume Puella Magi Madoka Magica Production Note archive book set. However, unlike the first round of general pre-orders which are scheduled to ship on September 30, the second round are slated for around October 20. Gamers reports the second round of pre-orders will still include the limited first-printing bonus extras.

In collaboration with graphics designer Milky Isobe, the anime studio Shaft itself compiled and edited the 352 pages of production materials and 144 pages of art by the design team Gekidan Inu Curry from the popular television anime. The book set measures 268 x 195 x 47 millimeters (about 10.5 x 7.6 x 1.9 inches) and 1.629 kilograms (3.59 pounds).

Each set contains a B5-sized illustration sheet by character designer Takahiro Kishida, while the limited first edition will add a postcard and a bookmark designed by Gekidan Inu Curry, as well as a separate bookmark of the character Kyubey. Each set costs 5,500 yen (about US$72).

The production company Aniplex held advances sales of the book set at Comic Market in Tokyo in August, but there was a limit of two sets per buyer.
