Free 'Yuruyuri Shake You' iOS App Released in Japan

Shake the app to make Yuruyuri girls' faces bounce off each other & talk

Pony Canyon released two new apps inspired by the slice-of-life comedy anime series Yuruyuri on Sunday.

When Yuruyuri Shake You users shake their iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, the faces of the anime characters Akari, Kyoko, Chinatsu, and Yui talk to each other as they collide, like air hockey pucks. While users can download the application for free with Akari, the other characters must be purchased for 250 yen (about US$3). This is Pony Canyon's first "Shake You" app, and it plans to make more for other franchises.

Pony Canyon's other new Yuruyuri iOS app is an alarm clock featuring the voice of Kyoko. This app costs 350 yen (about US$4.50), and Pony Canyon plans to introduce similar apps with the voices of Akari, Chinatsu, and Yui in the future. kayac also released the Everyday Yuruyuri calendar app in the United States iTunes Store on October 10.

Namori's original Yuruyuri manga follows several fun-loving schoolgirls who take over the former room of a tea ceremony club for their own "Gorakubu" (amusement club). Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine has been publishing the manga since Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime S magazine ended publication in 2010. Crunchyroll streamed the anime adaptation in several countries as it aired in Japan.
