Nana Mizuki, Ayahi Takagaki Sing Symphogear Themes

Music battle TV anime's 1st episode previewed in December 26 event

Nana Mizuki (Blood-C, Naruto) will sing the "Title Mitei" (Untitled) opening theme song for the Senhime Zesshō Symphogear television anime, which will begin airing in Japan in January. Ayahi Takagaki (Occult Academy, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) will perform the anime's ending theme song titled "Meteor Light." Both singers are also voice acting for the series with Mizuki (pictured right) playing Tsubasa Kazenari while Takagaki (pictured left) portrays Chris Setsuin.

The anime follows two girls in a top vocal unit named Zweiwing who fight to save humanity against a threat known as "Noise." Senhime Zesshō Symphogear will run for 12 or 13 episodes, and the series' first episode will premiere at a special screening event in Tokyo's Shinjuku ward on December 26. Cast members Mizuki, Aoi Yūki, and Yuka Iguchi will attend and speak at the screening, and the event will be limited to 1,000 seats.

Composer Noriyasu Agematsu of the music group Elements Garden and game producer Akifumi Kaneko (Wild Arms) created the Senhime Zesshō Symphogear project. Tatsufumi Itō is directing the project at Encourage Films. Mizuki, Minami Takayama, Yūki, and Iguchi will perform leading roles.
