Japanese game developer Level-5 began streaming two 15-second commercials that put voice actress Mana Ashida within the world of the Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō game. In the first ad ("Meadow"), Ashida marvels at being in "Ni no Kuni," and in the second ad ("Goroneeru Castle"), Ashida visits the King of Cats. In real life, Ashida voices the game's "mysterious girl character," and she also stars in the live-action Usagi Drop film and the upcoming anime film Magic Tree House.
Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō features animation by Studio Ghibli, and it is a companion to the Nintendo DS game Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madōshi, which shipped last December. Both versions of the game follows a boy who can move from his home world to the world of "Ni no Kuni" via a magical book.
Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō shipped in Japan on Thursday for the retail price of 8,800 yen (about US$114), and an English release will follow in early 2012.
