Manchester Game Convention in October

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Play Expo will include cosplay area, featuring "masquerade, talks, anime."

A games convention, Play Expo, will take place at EventCity in Manchester (map and directions) on October 13 and 14. The event will include a dedicated cosplay area featuring "masquerades, talks (and) anime."

Play Expo is organised by Replay Events, which previously held "Replay" shows in Blackpool. According to the event page, there will be four main strands, named re.play, now.play, pro.play and cos.play. :

The familiar re.play event will feature freeplay arcade & pinball machines, retro consoles and vintage computers. now.play will have a large emphasis on the preview of Christmas gaming, hardware and accessory releases for the latest consoles and PC. pro.play is an eSports event featuring [big-money!] competitive gaming tournaments, whilst cos.play will include costume competitions, masquerades, talks, DDR and other cool features.

The page also adds that Konami will be supporting the event.

Tickets can be bought here. A weekend ticket, including a booking fee, costs £22 for an adult or £13.2 for a child. (Children under 5 are free but they still need a valid ticket, see the webpage for details.) One day tickets for either Saturday or Sunday are £13.20 for adults, £8.80 for children, including the booking fee.
