Smartphone card battle game inspired by Level-5/Ghibli collaboration

Game developer Level-5 official website began streaming the "Imaajen Birth" and "Weak Point Search" 15-second TV spots for Ni no Kuni Daibouken Monsters card battle RPG. The smartphone game is based on Level-5's Ni no Kuni role-playing franchise.

Two previous Ni no Kuni games featured animation by Studio Ghibli and music by Ghibli collaborator Joe Hisaishi: Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madōshi for the Nintendo DS handheld system in December 2010 and Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō for the PlayStation 3 console in November 2011. Both games follow a boy who can travel from his home world to the world of "Ni no Kuni" via a magical book.

Akihiro Hino, the CEO of the game studio Level-5 spoke about prospects for more in the Ni no Kuni role-playing game franchise during the Namco Bandai Global Gamers Day 2012 event in Las Vegas in April, indicating that if sales were good, then he would like to continue the franchise. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is scheduled for release in North America early next year.
