Video also features LAWSON store chain's Vocaloid mascot Akikoroid-chan

The LAWSON convenience store chain began streaming a music video on Monday for "Kara-age-kun Ondo 2012," the official song for the store's Kara-age-kun — battered and deep-fried chicken. The video features voice actor and singer Hiro Shimono (RahXephon, Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Mobile Suit Gundam UC), the musician Hyadain (Kuroko's Basketball, Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts), also known under his real name Ken'ichi Maeyamada, and LAWSON's Vocaloid mascot "Akikoroid-chan."

The store chain held a contest last September-October for lyrics for a new song for its new Vocaloid mascot "Akikoroid-chan" to sing as the official song for the store's fried chicken. LAWSON combined the lyrics from the top six entries to create an official song.

LAWSON's mascot Akiko-chan received a synthesized Vocaloid voice makeover last August to become Akikoroid-chan. Akikoroid-chan acts as a navigator for LAWSON's new Nico Nico Douga channel, and she also acts as the company's spokesperson on more than 10 different social media services including Twitter.
