Three-time Olympic medalist Satomi Suzuki has told reporters that it is her dream to become a voice actress.
Suzuki has said that she loves and is an ardent fan of anime and video games. Suzuki was recently seen playing the Sengoku Basara video game at the Athletes' Village venue in London. Suzuki is also friends with voice actor Ryuuzou Ishino, whom she met through Twitter. Ishino plays the character Chōsokabe Motochika in the Sengoku Basara video games and two anime series.
The Sports Hochi newspaper reports that in May Suzuki was talking on the phone with her childhood swimming coach, and instead of telling her coach that she was going to win a medal, she said, "I'm going to become a voice actress."
The 21-year-old has won three medals at the 2012 London Olympics. She won a silver medal in the Women's 200-meter Breaststroke event, a bronze medal in the Women's 100-meter Breaststroke event, and she won a bronze medal with three other women in the Women's 4x100-meter Medley Relay event.
