Masahiro Higashide, Karen Miyazaki Join Live-Action xxxHOLiC Cast

Actor Masahiro Higashide (The Kirishima Thing's Hiroki) and actress Karen Miyazaki (GTO remake's Tomoko Nomura) have been cast as Shizuka Dōmeki and Himawari Kunogi, respectively in next year's live-action television adaptation of CLAMP's xxxHOLiC manga.
The eight-episode series will premiere on Japan's WOWOW premium television station in February 2013. The actress and model Anne will play the role of Yuuko, while Shōta Sometani will play the character Watanuki. Keisuke Toyoshima will direct the series.
Singer/songwriter Shikao Suga will return to the franchise to perform the show's theme song.
xxxHOLiC was originally published in Kodansha's Young Magazine and Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2003 to 2011, and tells the story of Yuuko, a witch who grants people's wishes, but in return the person has to give up something precious, and Watanuki Kimihiro, a man who has visions. One day, Watanuki encounters Yuuko and she promises to get rid of the spirits that torment him. In return Watanuki must work in Yuuko's shop and help her grant other people's wishes.
In commemoration of the premiere of the series, WOWOW will broadcast the xxxHOLiC and xxxHOLiC: Kei television anime series, and the xxxHOLiC the Movie: A Midsummer Night's Dream anime film in January and February.
