66 HMV Stores to Close in U.K.

Full list of closing stores published, including five in London area, five in Edinburgh.

The Guardian newspaper has published a list (below) of 66 HMV stores that are due to shut. They include five stores in Edinburgh, five in the London area, three in GLASGOW and two in Belfast.

There are differing reports about the fate of the London store in Oxford Street. It is not on the list of closures, but the Guardian also reports that HMV's administrators will be considering bids to buy the building on Friday, between £6m and £9m. However, the newspaper also claims "Hilco, the restructuring specialist, is considering whether it can hold on to the site as part of its plan to run a downsized HMV."

The HMV stores due to close are the following:
