Girls & Panzer Valentine Carnival Cut Short Due to Crowds

The official Twitter feed and blog for the Girls und Panzer anime announced on Thursday that they would be canceling the two last sessions of the Girls und Panzer Valentine Carnival card giveaway due to immense crowds of customers. Staff stated that after the chaos that ensued due to the crowds in the stores, they were forced to think of the safety of the fans and cancel the event.
The sessions that were canceled were the ones at Akihabara's Gamers! store from 5:30 p.m., and at Animate's Akihabara main store from 7:00 p.m. (The photograph shows the crowds at the earlier session at the Gamers! shop at 3:00 p.m.) Notices at the stores wrote that it was undecided whether the goods would be distributed again in the future.
In order to make amends, the Girls und Panzer website is offering free hi-resolution image downloads of the Ankou Chocolate bar-themed cards that were being handed out at the event.
In related news, Love Live! School idol project's “μ's Choco Choco Dai Sakusen” event also ended early due to demand.
