3DS RPG with MADHOUSE animation to ship in Japan on June 27

North American video game publisher Atlus USA announced on Tuesday that it will release the Shin Sekaija no Meikyū: Millennium no Shōjo Nintendo 3DS role-playing game in North America this fall under the name Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl. The game will be available both in stores and on the Nintendo e-Shop.

The Studio Madhouse is producing not only the opening anime, but other anime sequences for the game. Atlus streamed the opening anime sequence to the game on Monday.

The game features an expanded story mode and a classic mode that updates the original Etrian Odyssey game. The story mode allows players to use five pre-made characters with personality and dialogue to explore a story not told in the first game. The game will also feature a Grimoire Stone system allowing characters to use skills outside of their classes.

The game will ship in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS June 27 for 6,279 yen (about US$63). The first copies of the game will include a soundtrack of exclusive music by Yuzo Koshiro with an illustration by character designer Yuji Himukai. Shigeo Komori directed the game, and Shin Nagasawa designed the monsters.

Atlus USA released Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan for the Nintendo 3DS on February 26.
