Metal Max 4 Game's 4°C Anime Sequences Previewed in 1st Promo

Hiro Shimono, Kanami Satou star in latest Metal Saga post-apocalyptic RPG this fall

Enterbrain began streaming the first promotional video for its Metal Max 4: Gekkō no Diva (Metal Max 4: Moonlight Diva) Nintendo 3DS game. The video highlights the anime sequences that Studio 4°C is producing for the game. Voice actress Kanami Satou (Double-J, Fairy Tail) narrates the video as her character Sasha.

Enterbrain and Crea-Tech label the game as a “Tank & Dog & Human RPG.” The story is set after worldwide devastation reduced humanity to the brink of extinction. 50 years later, the boy Hinata (voiced by Hiro Shimono) lives in peace with his foster parents Gibu and Sasha on Konkuri Island.

However, the mysterious figure Gomodo has attacked the island and kidnapped Gibu. Sasha transforms into a motorbike and escapes the island with Hinata. Hinata and Gibu turn out to be part of "Hot Seed," a pocket of humanity that had been frozen in time since the devastating calamity 50 years ago. Hinata joins Sasha on a journey across the wasteland to rescue Gibu.

Hiroshi Miyaoka is returning from the previous installments as the game designer along with original character designer Atsuji Yamamoto (Elf 17, Ultimate Teacher). The game is scheduled to be released in Japan this fall.

The first Metal Max post-apocalyptic role-playing game was released in 1991, followed by Metal Max 2 in 1993. Several games in the franchise were later released under the title Metal Saga, the first of which was localized for North America by Atlus. The latest game in the Metal Max series, Metal Max 3 was released for the Nintendo DS in 2010.
