Slide Down the Slopes On a Doraemon Kids' Snowboard

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Snowboards are available in blue & yellow versions for US$302

Snowboarding equipment company Burton will be releasing a series of Doraemon-themed kids' snowboards, titled "Doraemon After School Special," in mid-September.

The snowboards are being released to commemorate the 80th birthday of Fujiko F. Fujio, Doraemon's co-creator. Doraemon appears on both the front and back of the snowboards, which are intended for beginning snowboarders and feature a high-stability design that prevents tumbles and falls. The boards include a set of easily removed bindings.

The snowboards are available in blue and yellow varieties, and come in 80, 90, and 100 centimeter sizes (2.6, 3, and 3.3 feet). Each snowboard retails for 29,600 yen (about US$302).

The beginner-oriented boards feature easily removable bindings.

The reverse of the boards also feature Doraemon artwork.

Tokyo Tower is also celebrating the creator's birthday from until October 6. The landmark is holding an open exhibit that includes 80 life-size Doraemon to greet visitors in various places around the tower.
