Level-5 Unveils Layton 7 Puzzle Game with New Characters

Game developer Level 5 announced at its "Level 5 Vision 2013" event on Monday that a seventh game in the Professor Layton series is in development. The game, a "role-playing puzzle" game currently titled Layton 7, is planned for Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android.
The game format is a departure from previous Layton games, in that players take on one of various character roles, as seen in the gallery below and on 4Gamer's website. Players must play out the role of the character in the game, which is full of puzzles.
The sixth and latest game in the franchise, Layton-Kyōju to Chō-Bunmei A no Isan (Professor Layton and the Legacy of the Super Civilization A), shipped in Japan last February. Level-5 president Akihiro Hino previously stated that it would be the "final and greatest adventure" of Professor Layton.
