Pre-Orders Open For Ryuko Matoi & Miss Monochrome Nendoroids

posted on by Bamboo Dong

Good Smile Company is currently taking pre-orders for several new Nendoroid figures, amongst them Kill la Kill's Ryuko Matoi and Miss Monochrome.

The Ryuko Nendoroid comes with three different facial expressions, alternate hands parts, a guitar case, and alternate eye parts for Senketsu. For figure collectors who are all about the small details, the red streak in Ryuko's hair is semi-transparent, allowing her eyes and eyebrows to still be seen.

Those who pre-order the figure from the Good Smile Company online store will receive a miniature Scissor Blade as a bonus.

The company plans on making Nendoroids of other Kill la Kill characters as well, with Mako Mankanshoku on deck.

Good Smile Company have also opened pre-orders for Miss Monochrome, the titular character of the anime series, Miss Monochrome.

In the TV series, the aspiring idol discovers Nendoroids for the first time when she walks past a merchandise store; she decides then that she wants to be one too. After an entire episode of trying to craft her own, she decides to just dress up as one.

While the real-life Miss Monochrome Nendoroid was announced last fall, Good Smile Company's "Kahotan's Blog" recently posted some images of the final product.

The figure has Miss Monochrome in her signature black and white outfit, along with a rollable version of her pal Ru-chan, a Roomba owned by the character.

For an extra taste of meta, Nendoroid Miss Monochrome even gets a figure-sized package showcasing her own Nendoroid.

Other accessories include different facial expressions and arms, a battery box, and the manganese batteries that power Miss Monochrome.

If all of this looks eerily familiar, it's because the actual Nendoroid looks almost exactly like the fictional version illustrated in the anime, minus some of the accessories.

The figure is available for preorder now, with an expected ship date of September 2014. Orders from the GSC online store will come with a special photo print of Miss Monochrome.

For those eager to get their hands on even more Monochrome, King Records is releasing a special "Poker Face Black" variant of the Nendoroid. It is only available for purchase to those who also bought the Miss Monochrome - The Animation- Blu-Ray or DVD Black and White boxsets.
