Studio Khara Shows Off Its Take on Its Own Recruitment Animation Challenge

Since April, Studio Khara has been recruiting talented 3-D animators to work on the next Evangelion film. Its assignment is to animate a character climbing onto a block, then jumping from that block onto another, taller block, within ten seconds and with ten cuts or less. Now three of the main animators from Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo — Yoshikazu Nakama, Masanori Iwasato and Yūsuke Matsui — have thrown down the gauntlet with videos of their own takes on the test. You can see their work in the video below, along with a slower version of each video at 1/4 speed.

If you think you can top that, the recruitment deadline is the end of July.
