Tilt-Shift Video From the Tokyo City Observatory Makes The City Look Like A Toyset

posted on by Bamboo Dong

Tilt-shift photography, a technique popular for its ability to make landscapes and life-sized objects look like miniature models, can make even the most ordinary subjects look surreal. Bustling train stations can look like garage models, while cityscapes can look like a collection of Lego. While the Internet abounds with amazing collections of tilt-shift photography, we were enamored with this tilt-shift, time lapse video taken by YouTube videographer Darwinfish105 from the Tokyo City View Observatory in Roppongi Hills.

Those eager to explore other parts of Tokyo and the surrounding region should check out darwinfish105's other videos, including this amazing time-lapse video of Yokohama.

And one from atop Tokyo Tower:

Here's a quaint video of Haneda Airport that makes all of the planes look like toys:

Be sure to check out darwinfish105's other videos on YouTube and Vimeo, as well as his blog, where he experiments frequently with different camera setups.
