Durarara Takes Over Namjatown

With the upcoming return of Durarara!! to television screens, it looks like there are going to be quite a few sightings of familiar faces throughout Ikebukuro. To celebrate the homecoming of this dark urban fairytale, Namco's indoor amusement park NAMJATOWN, which is also located in Ikebukuro, is going to be running a special Durarara!! event complete with exclusive food and merchandise.

First, so that you can take home a piece of the action that is to come, NAMJATOWN will be selling some limited edition Durarara!! goods featuring everyone's favorite characters. The current list of items for sale include four different clear files, each at 378 yen a piece (about US $3.28), a colorful blanket featuring the entire main cast for 2,160 yen (about US $18.75), long cushions, available in in one of seven different character themed designs for 2,700 yen each (about US $23.43), and four different sets of character button pins at 540 yen a set of two (about US $4.69).

But no collaborative event would be complete without some special menu items to go along with it. First, as an homage to the three most prolific students in Ikebukuro from Raira Academy is this multicolored and variously flavored gelato, based on Mikado, Kida, and Anri for 780 yen (about US $6.77).

Next up, in honor of the most mysterious information broker in Ikebukuro, Izaya has his own set of "KEEP OUT" black gyoza, which look just as dangerous as the character himself. Draped with yellow police ribbon, and accompanied by Izaya's signature pocket knife, this ode to the great lover of humanity is 740 yen (about US $6.43).

Of course, whenever Izaya is on the scene, Shizuo can't be far behind. This time, the bartender gets his own flan pudding parfait, complete with a recently uprooted cookie street sign to bash Izaya upside the head with. This call to wanton destruction and behemoth-like rage can be enjoyed for 680 yen (about $5.90)

One of Ikebukuro's most mysterious inhabitants, the foreign motorbike riding dullahan Celty Sturluson, gets her own pudding cup with luscious fruit and a candy bikers helmet and black scythe. This dessert, which is the embodiment of her affection, will cost 720 yen (about US $6.25).

Finally, the lovable gang of misfits, and former members of the Blue Sqaures, Kyohei Kadota, Walker Yumasaki, Erika Karisawa, and Saburo Togusa, all gather at their favorite sushi shop to bring you this mixed plate of delicious gyoza and sushi. This Russian-made Japanese dish will cost 680 yen (about $5.90).

The event began on November 1 and will be running until January 7. The first season of the new Durarara!! series, titled Durarara!!×2 Shō will be coming out in January, followed by two more seasons in Summer of 2015 and Winter of 2016.
