Love Live Enthusiast Puts A Spin On Her Coming-of-Age Ceremony

posted on by Bamboo Dong

Seijin no Hi, or Coming-of-Age Day, is celebrated in Japan every year on the second Monday of the year. It celebrates those who have turned 20 the previous year, or who will do so before March 31 of the current year. While some men opt to just wear suits for their special day, women generally wear furisode, long-sleeved kimono worn only by unmarried women.

It's a special day for men and women alike, although this year, one idol fan decided to eschew the traditional furisode for something a little more in line with her hobbies:

The first tweet reads, "The wait is over. Fukui prefecture. I did it. Coming-of-Age ceremony." Incidentally, one of the photos shows a throng of women in the background wearing the more traditional garment.

The fan is also the proud owner of an ita-car, and is an unabashed fan of Love Live!'s Nico Yazawa. Check out her Twitter for more.
