500 Anime Fans Choose the Top 16 Idol Anime Series

There's no doubt that idols, both virtual and three-dimensional, are sticking around in the Japanese music industry. Hatsune Miku is a merchandise machine extending from electronics to toys, wearable goods, food, and anything else you can imagine. Anime is no stranger to this phenomenon whether it's the disillusionment of the entertainment industry (Perfect Blue), the comedic struggles of a little-known local idol unit (Locodol), or a completely manufactured corporate mascot (Super Sonico).

The Goo ranking website asked 500 anime fans, split evenly between men and women, to choose their favorite idol-focused anime series.
