Magazine Contest Lets You Win PlayStation Bay Covers Autographed by Game Designers

The Japanese video game magazine Dengeki PlayStation celebrated its 20th anniversary last month, along with the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation line itself. To commemorate the occasion, it's holding a contest for its readers to win valuable and rare PlayStation-related goods. The catch: you have to own at least one of the Dengeki PlayStation issues from December 2014 or January 2015 (Volumes 580-583).

If Dengeki PlayStation readers mail in a postcard found in Volume 582 (published on January 15), they can win these five HDD bay covers autographed by famous PlayStation game designers:

Tetsuya Nomura of Square Enix

Hideo Baba & Minoru Iwamoto of Bandai Namco

Ryōzō Tsujimoto of CAPCOM

Satoshi Sakai of Sega (the message notes the magazine's 20th anniversary as well as Phantasy Star Online's 15th anniversary)

Rendō Kurosaki (the creator of Hōkago Play)

The bay covers come with acrylic stands so they can be displayed without a PlayStation. Other presents will include a PlayStation Vita with a 64 GB memory card and signed Atelier Escha & Logy Plus scrolls and paper.

Dengeki PlayStation volumes 580-583 also contain application forms for other prizes. (Volume 583 will be published on January 29.) Readers who fill out these forms can apply for one of two courses: Course A demands forms from all four issues, while Course B only requires two forms.

The grand prize from Course A, only available for a single winner, is a PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition, which looks like the original PlayStation from 1994.

Four winners will receive a FORIS FS2434, a gaming monitor known for its especially thin frame.

Three people can also win a copy of Grand Theft Auto V with a product code for $1 million in in-game money; three other people can win a copy of the upcoming Dragon Quest game, Dragon Quest Heroes: Yamiryū to Sekaiju no Shiro. Both prizes come with PS4s; the latter will be a "metal slime" special edition PS4.

Applicants who opt for Course B can win a Real Arcade Pro V4 Silent Hayabusa, a control panel with an arcade-style joystick and buttons.

They can also win a nasne, a Sony media storage hub that lets you access TV programs on other Sony products. These prizes will be awarded to five people each.
