Woolly Yoshi Amiibo Doubles as a Cuddle Buddy

Nintendo announced its next round of Amiibo releases during the Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday, and they're sure to empty collector's wallets. Among the crowd of figures is one particularly unique amiibo. The green dinosaur looks familiar, but there's something much more cuddly about this one.
The knitted Yarn Yoshi amiibo works like its plastic counterparts.. Nintendo is releasing it as a tie-in for the upcoming Yoshi's Woolly World Wii U game this fall. His squishy-soft exterior also makes him a perfect cuddle buddy when you're not eating up bad guys.
Nintendo didn't stop at just one though. There's actually three different colors: classic green, pink, and blue and they're all ready to come home with you.
Players that scan Yarn Yoshi get an extra in-game Yoshi to accompany them on their quest. Yarn Yoshi might offer additional bonuses in other amiibo-compatible games, too, but details haven't been announced yet.
Nintendo also announced 15 more figures heading our way this year, including characters from Pokémon, Splatoon, Kid Icarus, and more.
