Josh Nizzi's Godzilla Conceptual Art Shows Off Monsters

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Godzilla is getting the glory lately from both sides of the pond. Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi are helming TOHO's upcoming monster flick and the giant lizard is also heading tourism for Tokyo's Shinjuku area. Over in the United States, Gareth Edwards' Godzilla film is being acknowledged critically and raked in enough dough to get it a sequel in 2018.

Creating the revamped Godzilla for Hollywood wasn't easy. Weta Workshop's Christian Pearce and Andrew Baker shared multiple variations when the film was in production. At the same time, Josh Nizzi submitting concept art for potential foes Godzilla would face in the film. Production ultimately went to the insect-like M.U.T.O., but Nizzi's reptilian foes are just as cool.

"Pterodactyl"

"Rokmutul"

Legendary Pictures already teased that the sequel would have more monsters and expressed that they wanted to include Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah.
