Tiger & Bunny Characters Get Cuddly Transformations

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

Characters of the popular 2011 anime Tiger & Bunny are receiving adorable and cuddly transformations.

Animate stores in Japan are set to release the main protagonists of the 2014 film Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising- in a new release of the "Tiger & Bunny: The Rising x Rascal" product line, where they will become raccoon plushies going for 620 yen each (about US$5.20).

The plushies will portray the titular characters, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi and Barnaby Brooks, Jr, in their civilian outfits. A film-exclusive character, Golden Ryan, will also have his own raccoon version of himself, albeit without his hulking gold suit.

These cutesy crime-fighters will have their likenesses displayed on other products as well, including this change purse pictured above.

They'll also be featured on tote bags.

Message pads will show off illustrations of the trio.

Keychains will display the raccoons in various poses and faces.

A set of clear files will also show off chibi human versions of the characters interacting with their raccoon counterparts.

With the first line having been released back in November of 2014, the new plushies of "Tiger and Bunny: The Rising x Rascal" are coming out on July 25 of this year.

Animate also plans to sell Tiger & Bunny alpaca plushies on their Japanese online stores in the same month. Featured in various preview displays as prototypes at Anime Expo 2014 and New York Comic-Con 2014, these soft, furry fearless heroes are finally seeing an official release. The heroes being portrayed are, once again, the titular characters in both their civilian clothes and their hero suits along with a hero suited Blue Rose. The alpacas will go for 3542 yen (US$29.68).
