New Kotatsu Provides Heating and Seating for One Only

A brand new kotatsu model now reserves its comforting warmth for one person and one person only.
Yamazen Co. Ltd. is selling its brand new "Kotatsu for One." As a seated heating appliance made for warming up on cold winter days, a standard kotatsu is usually large enough to seat four people within a living room. Now, single-living people (or people with small rooms) will be able to have their own compact-sized kotatsu to rest and heat their laurels under.
The kotatsu itself is a mere 58cm by 58cm (23in x 23in) wide and stands at 58-60cm (23-24in), depending on how high you wish to set it. The heating apparatus is also powered electrically.
As a three-piece set, the Kotatsu for One also comes with a removable futon cover for especially cold days as well as a small chair for taller individuals.
The Kotatsu for One costs 24,900 yen (US$208)
