Justin Bieber Receives Frantic Welcome in Japan, Smooches AKB48

The problematic pop sensation has now made his mark on his army of Japanese Beliebers.

Justin Bieber, the young Canadian music star infamous for his string of questionable public activities, has touched down to Japan to appear on Japanese music program Music Station.

Bieber's arrival at the airport was highly anticipated by an immense crowd of Bieber followers waiting by his exiting gate.

There was even allegedly some commotion by his private escort, ready to take him away as soon as the star was secure, saving him from a relentless onslaught of screaming fans.

Bieber performed on Music Station, an hour-long weekly music program that showcases several musicians from around the world. He performed his summer single "What Do You Mean?", released on August 28.

After recording for Music Station, Bieber met with AKB48 idols Minami Takahashi and Haruna Kojima backstage. The idols were all too excited to spend time with him as he posed with and even kissed them for their social media posts. Takahashi's Tweet states: "Thanks for everyone who helped record this Music Station episode for my last performance at AKB48! I was able to talk with Justin too! We were able to talk about all kinds of things! He was incredibly friendly and nice! I'm so glad we were able to meet!" Kojima's Instagram post simply thanked Bieber for spending time with them.

Music Station has been home to several global artists, including Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Aerosmith and Stevie Wonder. In September, the show even hosted its first virtual performance by hosting Vocaloid artist Hatsune Miku.
