Girls und Panzer Weaponry Hug Pillows Are Back

Hug pillows have gotten increasingly diverse recently. No longer satisfied with suggestive images of anime characters, manufacturers have created singular body parts, pillows that are 23-feet long, or if the show is Girls und Panzer, pillows that look a little dangerous.

The Girls und Panzer film has brought in 500 million yen (over US$4 million) since it opened last month. Starting on December 26, the theaters showing the film will offer a new round of merchandise. This includes an application postcard that can be mailed in for a Panzer IV tank hugging pillow.

Doesn't look particularly cuddly, does it? Details on how large it is and if the pillow is the standard cylindrical hugging pillow shape or something else entirely remains to be seen.

December 12: Film strips, Girls und Panzer x World of Tanks card to receive in-game Asami Seto voice pack and Type 97 Chi-Ha tank skin.

December 19: Girls und Panzer Christmas postcard with a code to get a Type 97 Medium tank (old turret) in the Girls und Panzer mobile game. December 26: The application postcard for a Panzer IV tank hugging pillow and World of Tanks × Girls und Panzer collaboration sticker.

A dōjin circle created pillows modeled after the shells the girls load into their tanks back in 2013. It originally sold for about US$30, but online auction bids topped at US$1,020.
