Facial Recognition Software Turns You Into a High School Anime Girl

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Holotech Studios' FaceRig avatar software can transform you, your friends, your dad, and your coworkers into anime high school girls. The program uses Skype and works similarly to the software that made SnapChat's filters popular, but more intricately.

FaceRig maps the user's face and follows it, so the anime counterpart moves as the user moves and emotes the same expressions. The beta first debuted last year with a focus on 3D-style characters.

The recently released Live2D module is where the anime avatar action is at. If anime girls aren't your style, the add on also has a cute white dog in a rice bowl.

The module starts with a few styles to choose from but users can import their own drawings and bring them to life.

FaceRig software costs US$14.99 on Steam and the Live2D module is an additional US$3.99.
