Ditto Continues Its Unsuccessful Infiltration of Pokemon Plush Line

posted on by Eric Stimson

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

The 132nd Pokemon, Ditto, has the rare ability to transform into other Pokemon it comes in contact with. This makes it perfect for infiltration and espionage (as Green in Pokémon Adventures can attest). Unfortunately, sometimes the transformation doesn't quite work out that well.

A new set of Pokemon plushies look a lot like Eevee, Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Gengar and Poliwag... but something's not quite right.

The plushies are also available in keychain form.

The full-size plushies cost 1,200 yen ($10.85) each, while the keychains are 800 yen ($7.24). They will be available starting May 14 at the Pokémon Center online and offline. Preorders will be taken beginning on May 7.

This is the second time Ditto has appeared incognito in a Pokemon plushie line. Ditto also infiltrated the Yokohama Pikachu danceathon in August. If you'd prefer a Pikachu impersonating a Ditto, check out this sleeping bag plushie.
