Matsuno Brothers Steal the Show at Mr. Osomatsu Merchandise Market

Life-size Ichimatsu statue also on display

Over the weekend of May 7 through 8, the Fes Osomatsu-san, a Mr. Osomatsu-themed fan gathering and merchandise market, took over the rooftop space at Makuhari Messe, a large convention center in Chiba near Tokyo.

The highlight of the event for many was the opportunity to buy this figure of Ichimatsu evoking Episode 16, when he attempts to pass himself off as Karamatsu with hilarious results.

As a nice bonus, buying the figure earned customers the right to take a picture with this life-size statue of Ichimatsu as Karamatsu.

The figures were sculpted by D-trade and are the early results of an effort to eventually produce figures of all six Matsuno brothers. The rest of the Matsuno clan is expected to be available in October. Sadly for enthusiastic Osomatsu fans, the full-size statues will be for event displays only.

Although there were many other goods for sale, the Matsuno brothers (and Iyami) themselves appeared and attracted excited crowds with their playful antics and cute poses.

Osomatsu merchandise was sold by vendors like Bandai, Banpresto and The Chara. It included T-shirts...

card sleeves...

badges...

and charm bands.

Character panels of the brothers in wedding garb tempted cameras.

Ichiban Cafe had a tent with Osomatsu-themed drinks and cookies, along with Osomatsu goods like these charm straps.

In other Mr. Osomatsu news, the anime recently offered fans a chance to help with the show's production. It also caused the May issue of Da Vinci magazine to sell out.
