Show by Rock!! Real Escape Game Comes with Plasmagica CD

posted on by Eric Stimson
Title of theme tune remains secret

Starting next weekend, Sanrio Puroland, a Sanrio-themed amusement park in western Tokyo, will hold a real escape game based on the character project Show By Rock!! Players will receive a CD of the game's theme song, sung by Plasmagica (Eri Inagawa, Sumire Uesaka, Manami Numakura and Ayane Sakura), as a prize for participating. As for the name of the song, players will have to escape Pyu~ru Land's impending musical deprivation to find out what it is.

In "Escape from Pyu~ru Land's Greatest Danger!," Plasmagica opens the annual Pyu~ru Land Fes (festival) with a rousing concert. But just as the audience's energy reaches a fever pitch, a message suddenly arrives. "I am the Queen of Darkness. I will destroy Pyu~ru Land Fes and steal all of its musical energy from outer space!" The evil queen fires a Black Hole Cannon at Pyu~ru Land. With just an hour to go before the blast hits, participants in the real escape game have to save the park from musical deprivation!

The CD cover with the title censored

Escape from Pyu~ru Land's Greatest Danger will take place on January 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 7 PM. Tickets cost 3,500 yen ($30) without the CD included and 4,500 yen ($38) with it.

Real escape games are events held in real-world locations like abandoned hospitals, Tokyo Dome and Roppongi Hills where players must solve a series of difficult puzzles within a strict time limit to "escape" the trap or threat. Popular works of fiction, like Ace Attorney, Attack on Titan and The Legend of Zelda, are often used to inspire the scenario.
