A-Fit Team Shows Anime Fans How to Exercise to "Cruel Angel's Thesis"

posted on by Eric Stimson
Anisong Fitness is an exercise program designed to get anime fans (or whoever else ate too much fried chicken and rice cake soup over the holidays) moving with catchy, energetic anime songs. Starring Gō Takahashi as the A-fit Teacher and Yūki Takada, Yakko and (the animated) Sakura Asahina as A-fit Girls, the program comes up with fun, dance-like moves to make sure viewers get their workout. The first song in the program is "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis" ("Cruel Angel's Thesis"), the theme song to Neon Genesis Evangelion, which was sung by Yoko Takahashi, Gō's older sister.

Too much for one session? That's O.K.: each song routine is broken into 12 parts, which will be aired on Tokyo MX and Sun Television every Wednesday at 10:35 PM and 12:05 AM. Here is the first part, which shows us how to do the "side jump."

Foreign viewers can always check the Anisong Fitness website for videos of the workout routines. Bonus points if you do this in Takahashi's get-up.
