Voice Actor Takuya Eguchi Comments on 'Virgin-Killing' Sweater Trend

A so-called "virgin-killing sweater" has been making waves in the Japanese Twitter universe. Internet users view "virgin-killing" garments as clothes that could supposedly cause people to lose their virginity or crush virgin hearts. The sweater recently debuted in a Chinese online shop, and Twitter users can't stop talking about it.

Voice actor Takuya Eguchi (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU's Hachiman, Seiren's Tatsuya) issued his own tweeted response to the "virgin-killing sweater" craze. However, if his Twitter profile picture is any indication, Eguchi is a lousy artist, so he only shared his thoughts. Eguchi mused about what the "antonym" of "virgin-killing" clothes might be. He said, "When I thought about it, it's an iron maiden. Either way the [virgin] men who will be killed are real idiots. Good morning."

Yes, Eguchi was referring to the supposed medieval torture devices called iron maidens. Apparently, the "antonym" of clothing that figuratively kills virgins is a device that could literally kill them. The voice actor might also have noticed that the device has a synonym for "virgin" in its name.

Several unique clothing items have caused similar crazes on Twitter. Last year, Chinese brand NONORI unveiled cat-themed lingerie that also created a tweet storm of anime fan art.
