Man-gatarō's Manga Art Features on Men's Underwear

Avant-garde gag manga creator Man-gatarō's art debuted on two types of men's underwear in the Shinchō Online Shop on Friday. The Yukari underwear features the character Yukari that appears in Man-gatarō's Tsumi to Batsu manga adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment novel. The character is based on Yukari Nakase, the head of Shinchōsha's publishing department.

The Rainbow Babā (old woman) underwear features a psychedelic design with Man-gatarō's Babā character in seven colors. The character, who appears in various manga of Man-gatarō's, is based on the creator's own grandmother.

Both types of the underwear cost 2,160 yen (about US$19), and they are slated to ship at the end of March. Shinchō Online Shop already offers six T-shirts featuring the characters Yukari and Babā.

Man-gatarō's Jigoku Kōshien (Hell Baseball Tournament or Battlefield Baseball), Yo nimo Kimyō na Man-gatarō (Extremely Bizarre Man-gatarō), and Chinyūki inspired Flash-animated DVDs in 2008.
