Free! Birthday Merchandise Returns in 2017

In 2015, the Kyoto Animation Shop began its successful Free! birthday merchandise line. The original launch items included each of the series' male characters with a flower motif on wall scrolls, cushion covers, placards, a rubber strap set, and button pins.
The company did it again the following year for the "Fresh! Fruit!" birthday line that depicted the characters with macron desserts.
The popular merchandise line-up is returning this year, according to the Kyoto Animation Shop's new announcement video.
The campaign is titled "Gekijōban Free!-Timeless Medley- Precious Birthday". Haruka's birthday will kick off the campaign when pre-orders open on March 31. Tie-in events at retailers are also planned.
Free! -Timeless Medley- includes two compilation films premiering on April 22 and July 1, respectively. The first film focuses on Haruka and his bonds with his teammates while the second film focuses on Rin and Sousuke's relationship. The brand-new Free! -Take Your Marks- theatrical anime project is a sequel to Free! -Timeless Medley-, and it will screen in theaters in Japan this fall.
